Definition
Meditation is a contemplative reading of and reflection on scripture and the truths of Scripture that results in life transformation.

Purposes
-Meditation draws us into the real life of biblical stories
-Meditation pull us asway from the distractions of a fallen world and focuses our attention on the transforming power fo God's Word.
-Meditation slows us down long enough to highlight our need for repentance and obedience.
-Meditation creates an emotional and spiritual place where Christ is in fellowship with us.

Dangers
-Meditation is not filling your mind with nothing.
-Meditation is not just Bible study
-Meditation is not difficult or reserved for the ultra-pious.

Directives
-Meditation is primarily a deep reflection on God's word.
-Meditation takes time.
-Meditation is intricatley linked to obedience.
-Meditation is essential for a blessed, prosperous, successful life.
-Meditation includes being absorbed with God, God's Word, and His works
-Meditation can be a recollection of God's work in your own life.
